Meet the dogs behind the treats
JET - LBP Linda's Jet
Jet came to live with me in April of 2001. She was adopted from Greyhound Adoption Service in Salisbury, MA. She had
just turned 2 and what I brought home with me that Friday afternoon was one happy puppy of
a greyhound! She is a happy nut and has yet to realize that she is no longer a puppy. Her
black muzzle is already well on its way to turing gray, but Jet is forever going to be a
puppy at heart. She isn't an in your face kissy dog, but she is my snuggler. Who said a 50
pound leggy greyhound can't be a lapdog? Jet hasn't heard that one yet because she tries
her best to somehow be on your lap, even if she only manages to fit her head or front
legs. I think her favorite thing to do is to run very tight circles out in the back yard -
who needs grass? Dirt is a fine yard covering! She is a silly, happy go lucky little girl
who walked into my house the day I brougth her home like she owned the place and had lived
here forever.
Jet is my picky little girl. There are not very many commercial treats that she will
eat. She is even picky when it comes to homemade treats. But if she eats them, they must
be really good! She gives 4 paws up for the peanut butter treats, the blueberry yogurt
treats, and the raspberry yogurt treats. The pumpkin treats are okay by her as long as
they have been out of the oven for a few days.
Ryan - Hallo Aristocat
Ryan came to live with me in June of 2002 after a long search for a companion for Jet.
He was adopted from Greysland Greyhound Adoption
in Hopkington, MA. I loaded Jet into the jeep on a Sunday afternoon and drove down to the
Cape to meet Ryan in his foster home. Ryan was, and still is, a shy greyhound. While he
wouldn't just walk up to me, he had no issues with just attaching himself to Jet and
following her around the yard for over an hour. They seemed to have a great time and as
long as Jet was next to me, Ryan was okay approaching me. I figured if Jet was still okay
with him after an hour of playing, he was the one. A week later we returned to the Cape to
pick Ryan up and bring him home for good. He has come a long way, but he is still a shy
boy. He is still unsure of people he doesn't know, balls scare him, and anything bigger
than a 1/2 ton truck is just too big in his mind! As you can see from the picture, he
likes his stuffies and the pink lamb is his favorite - has been since he arrived. While
shy with people he doesn't know, he has grown to be a giant nut with me. He is a very
happy boy, and he loves to eat. Unlike Jet, he isn't a cuddler... but he is my "in
your face, let me give you a smooch" boy. Nothing like hitting the snooze button only
to have 72 pounds of greyhound jump up on the bed and step on you just so he can give you
a good morning kiss. I wouldn't trade the bruises for the world!
"I'll eat anything as long as it doesn't eat me first." is Ryan's motto. If
Ryan eats the treats, I just take that as a sign that they are at least edable. Ryan is
allergic or sensitive to many ingredients found in commercial dog treats. All treats will
be wheat free because of this. And many will also be lactose free as well. If the treats
contain an ingredient that is a common allergen or sensitivity, it will be noted after the
name of the treat. All ingredients are also listed for the cookies so you can easily tell
if there is an ingredient in the treats that will not sit well with your dog. Ryan is very
happy to see that. He says his stomach doesn't like the trial and error method of
determining what cookies are okay for him to eat.
My two happy puppers...
